"Take Time Card" 4.5"w x 6.5"h

I stamped these flowers ages ago to do some sort of experiment - which never happened... They were done on black cardstock with white embossing powder. I then painted them, with each one a different color from an ArtQuest watercolor palette "Stargazer". I cut around them and cut some of the petals so my word quote would slide underneath. I colored the main card with Pan Pastels in a yellowish green and some other greens, weird colors but looks great. The quote insert was also done on white cardstock rubber stamped with (Quietfire Design "Take Time") Versafine Moss Green. Note I left of the words "the Season" and replaced it with my word "Spring". I distressed the edges of the quote insert with 2 brown Distress stamp pads. I added a little bar on the right hand side to slip the word quote under and keeps the card closed. Rubber stamped the butterfly (Quietfire Design) with black stamp pad and Holographic embossing powder. Needless to say, you can't see the holographic effect in the pic.

is from Arlene Faber to each her daughters.

"Mom - Heart can Hold" 5.5"w x 7"h

I started by crimping the lighter purple cardstock through a wavy crimper. Punched out the hearts with a medium sized squeeze punch. Mounted it to a silver metallic cardstock and trimmed it close, then mounted it to a dark purple. Rubber stamped teh letter "M" (Quietfire design "Italic Caps" alphabets) with Versafine stamp pad "Imperial Purple". The main card is an ivory tone which I edged with some purple Pan pastels. Rubber stamped the quote (Quietfire Design "No one can measure") with the purple stamp pad, then glued down the silver and purple hearts.

"Mom - Heart can Hold #2 Gate Fold" 4.25"w x 7"h

I started on a medium toned pink cardstock (the image is somehow a lot pinker and more contrasting than in real, it's the tone of the image from the inside below). I used a Lynell Harlow Dreamweaver brass stencil #LM236 and dry embossed it, moving the stencil to repeat some of the pattern for the length of my border, then rubbed it with some gold Metallic Rub Ons. I colered the edges along the fold with some Pan Pastels in a magenta and purple tone. Rubber stamped various quotes (all from Quietfire Design), using only portions of them along the edges of the card using several colors of VersaMagic chalk stamp pads in pink and lavender. Added a closure by punching out heart shapes and adding a heart brad and then tying it with 4 ply waxed linen thread.

The inside on the gate doors I adhered some heavy textured floral paper, leaving a border of the pink all around (it also served to hide the brad closure on the inside). I dry embossed the heart with flourish, also Dreamweaver # LM125, then colored it with Pebbles Pearlescent chalks. Adding a touch of Ranger's white Inkssentials pen for highlights olong the ribbon and heart. Added Glossy Accents for the hearts to make them pop and shine. The Quote "No one can measure" (also from Quietfire Design) was done on a white cardstock with Versafine stamp pad "Imperial Purple" and the heart cut out, then the edges colored with the Pan pastels. I added mini gold eyelets and attached the quote heart to the embossed heart with staples, adjusting the length for the off shaped heart. (Couldn't find my colored staples, so had to resort to normal staples - sigh). Adhered only the top edge of the embossed heart section to the card. The heart flips up so a personal message can be written and stays secret...

For some time now, gg designs has relaxed any restrictions about using only ggd images in samples presented here. We have done this because we have produced so few new images in the past year. Whenever possible, we appreciate seeing what you have done with our designs but in no way want to limit participation just to our customers. We feel is is more important to share techniques and information and encourage everyone to try new approaches.

We thank everyone for their participation and hope you will all look into the other sites mentioned so you can see what is going on "out there" in the vast crafting community on the Internet.

Please bring back and share what you learn in your "Cybertravels" with gg designs readers/customers.

TOWARD THAT END......Next Wednesday, this Gazette page will be updated and will bring you an article by Jeanette Waters. Please be sure to come back then to see what she is "up to." Hint....she has been published!!!

Also, Jeanette is working on a tutorial on wood veneer stamping that will be showcased first on the Gazette Front Page and then housed in our "Classes" section.

Thanks Jeanette. Thanks Arlene. Thanks Yogi. Thanks Mary. Thanks EVERYONE!
