Long time an arts and crafts enthusiast, Jennie has been stamping for several years. She lives and works in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Her interest in Origami and stickers made the move to rubber stamping a "natural".

She enjoys the stamp shows and conventions and attends stamp sales when she can.

As with many stampers, she enjoys all the tools and accessories.

Embossing is an integral part of many of her designs. Recently she has incorporated glitter tape borders and 3-D elements using corrugated paper layers and ribbons and bows. Another new technique she is exploring combines stencils with shrink art stamps.

The card below uses the candy cane plus a variety of snow flake stamps.

Both cards suggest great "no-fail" starter stamp projects

Candy canes randomly stamped on the plain side of of brown paper bags make great, inexpensive wrapping paper. The brown paper creates a muted "old fashioned" look. Wrapping the packages with yarn or coordinated ribbon and a ttaching several real cellophane wrapped candy canes completes the package.

White tissue paper also takes ink well and makes a good practice project. Using an overall design on large sheets of paper is sure to give sections that will work for small packages. That way, there is less pressure for "perfection" and no guilt about "wasting" materials or time.
